Bitcoin BRC20 protocol upgraded to "BRC2.0" to realize EVM-style smart contract

Odaily Planet Daily News Bitcoin token protocol BRC 20 has been upgraded in Block 912,690, integrating Ethereum virtual machine (EVM), taking an important step in supporting Ethereum-style smart contracts. The upgrade was performed by Ordinals developer Best in Slot and BRC 20 creator Domo, and is known as "BRC 2.0". The move makes the BRC 20 Turing complete, said Eril Binari Ezerel, CEO of Best in Slot. Domo said the goal is to combine Bitcoin’s decentralized security with the composability and programmability of EVM. (CoinDesk)
