CoinBynet reported that the class action lawsuit against TaskUs in New York has been revised, adding allegations of systemic security failure and concealment of incidents related to Coinbase customer data breach.
The revised indictment, filed in the Federal Court of the Southern District of New York on Tuesday, supplements important details previously disclosed, involving the handling of Coinbase customer data in the massive breach—from the origins of the incident at the end of 2024 to the final disclosure of Coinbase in May this year, with an estimated loss of up to $400 million.
A Coinbase spokesperson said: “This is a criminal bribery program that began at the end of 2024, leveraging external suppliers and a small number of Coinbase Customer Experience (CX) employees located outside the United States to commit social engineering scams on less than 1% of monthly active transaction users.”
