Tether launches USAT stablecoin, Bo Hines is appointed CEO of a new US branch

Former Trump’s White House cryptocurrency committee executive director Bo Hines has been appointed CEO of Tether’s newly formed U.S. division, and he will lead the launch of the US-regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin USAT. The token is designed to complement Tether’s existing USDT, which has a circulation of up to $169 billion. Tether is currently the 18th largest U.S. Treasury bond holder and is expected to make $13 billion in 2024. The company has confirmed that it will not seek a listing.
