Uniswap Community Votes to Pass the Temperature Check Proposal of “Create DUNI Legal Entity” to Become a Second Voting on Chain

According to the Snapshot governance page, the Uniswap community voted to pass the "Create a DUNI Legal Entity" temperature check proposal and will conduct a second vote on the chain. The proposal stated that Uniswap intends to adopt the Decentralized Non-Registration Non-Profit Association (DUNA) registered in Wyoming as the legal structure of the governance agreement and establish a legal entity called "DUNI". DUNI aims to maintain a decentralized governance structure while supporting off-chain operations such as contract signing, hiring service providers and fulfilling regulatory and tax obligations. The entity will recognize the binding effect of on-chain governance proposals, providing members with certainty in legal structure and liability protection without affecting the core mechanisms of Uniswap protocol, UNI tokens or on-chain governance. In the vision of Uniswap's governance evolution, governance can open up agreement fees, fund innovation, build partnerships, and respond confidently to legal obligations.
