According to BlockBeats, on September 3, artificial intelligence giant OpenAI confirmed a restructuring of its executive team on Tuesday, setting up a new position as chief technology officer for applications, and acquiring product analysis company Statsig for $1.1 billion. The acquired Statsig specializes in product optimization services such as A/B testing. Its founder and CEO Vijaye Raji will join OpenAI as the application chief technology officer to report directly to Fidji Simo, CEO of the application business. Semo joined OpenAI after resigning from his position as CEO of Instacart, a fresh food delivery platform, on August 18. "After the transaction is completed, Statsig employees will be incorporated into the OpenAI team, and the company will continue to operate independently and serve existing customers from its Seattle headquarters."
