Global Bitcoin ETP holdings exceed 1.47 million, demand slows down

According to Cointelegraph, global Bitcoin ETP holds more than 1.47 million Bitcoins, accounting for 7% of the total supply. The U.S. ETF holds the largest number, reaching 1.29 million, of which BlackRock's IBIT holds 746,810 and Fidelity's FBTC holds nearly 199,500. Global Bitcoin ETP increased by more than 170,000 Bitcoins between December 31, 2024 and August 31, 2025, worth approximately US$18.7 billion. Global Bitcoin ETP net outflows of $301 million in August, while the Ethereum fund attracted $3.95 billion inflows. Bitcoin demand slowed, and some investors turned to Ether. A Bitcoin whale sold 4,000 Bitcoins for 96,859 Ethers on Monday and now holds $3.8 billion worth of Ethers. Arkham reported that nine whales turned to ETH and purchased a total of $456 million. Bitcoin performed weakly in September, with gold prices rising. 92 crypto ETFs are pending approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission and are expected to be decided in October. Analyst PlanC said Bitcoin could slowly rise to $1 million. Delphi Digital predicts that Bitcoin may rise first and then fall after the Fed cuts interest rates.
