According to the U.S. Department of Justice, a Florida man was sentenced to 47 years in prison in September last year for planning a series of violent home robberies against cryptocurrency holders, and was sentenced to additional sentences last week for assaulting a witness. Remy St Felix, 25, was sentenced to an additional seven years in prison for assaulting a witness who testified that he had been involved in a mass house robbery. In the series of cases, some cryptocurrency holders have been beaten and tied in nylon ties, official press release said. In October, authorities said that in San Felix, a witness wearing shackles and handcuffs, hit his face, head and body. The incident happened after San Felix was convicted of nine charges including kidnapping and violent crimes with a gun. He allegedly called the witness a "traitor" (rat) during the attack.
