Huobi HTX reported that Lu Lei, deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, revealed at the 14th China Payment Clearing Forum that cross-border QR code payment interconnection has made important progress. Today, Alipay and Ant International, a subsidiary of Ant Group, have become the first batch of institutions to participate in the pilot of cross-border QR code unified gateway business.
Lu Lei stressed that the current systemic risk threats in the payment industry are increasing, and the scale of cross-border capital flows has expanded and the frequency of accelerating. It also provides an opportunity for risks such as cross-border money laundering and terrorist financing.
