Sweden, Finland urge EU to reconsider forest climate targets

Sweden and Finland urged the European Commission to reconsider climate policy and warned that logging restrictions could seriously affect their forestry sector. Prime Ministers Ulf Cristson and Petri Orpo expressed concern in a letter to Ursula von der Leyen, pointing out that reduced timber harvesting could hinder the development of industries that rely on pulp, paper and bioenergy production.
