PANews September 16th news, according to Cointelegraph, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is about to set up a "Government Blockchain Academy" to teach cryptocurrencies and other emerging technologies to the public sector. The institution announced on Monday that it will launch the academy next year in partnership with the Index Science Foundation. UNDP said that the college will provide professional education and implementation plans, and use blockchain and other technologies to help the government promote transformative development, focusing on education to deploy technology to meet development challenges. Irena Cerovic, head of UNDP's European and Central Asia team, said that the college will help countries meet challenges in new ways, from experiments to implementation, and enhance transparency. The college’s focus areas include creating digital certificates to improve service convenience, improving access to financial services, and will also promote climate financing using blockchain to track public procurement, combat corruption, and use tokens. The college will launch in some countries starting in 2026, and this year begins curriculum design, offering a variety of teaching methods to support the government in creating a high-impact blockchain initiative.
