DoorDash invests heavily in robots and drones to revolutionize last-mile delivery

Source: CoinWorld
DoorDash CEO Tony Xu said the company's eight-year journey of autonomous driving delivery was "full of hardships and hardships", but he was optimistic about entering the "first game of commercialization." The company is pursuing a multi-pronged strategy, including development within DoorDash Labs and working with Coco Robotics and Alphabet-owned Wing. While Wing has launched drone delivery services in Australia and robot testing is also being conducted in U.S. cities, a comprehensive commercial deployment remains challenging due to technical barriers and regulatory approvals. Xu highlights the complexity of integrating hardware, software and logistics, noting that occasionally manual intervention is still required.
