Fed chairmanship narrows to three, Trump reiterates support for Hassett as a presidency

According to ChainCatcher, Trump said on Friday that he was considering taking Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Commission, to other positions. Trump said he already knew who to choose to serve as Fed chairman, and Hassett was one of the three possible candidates. But he refused to admit that he would choose Hassett as chairman of the Federal Reserve. Trump said that US Treasury Secretary Bescent was the fourth candidate for the Fed chairman, and now there are three left. Wash and Waller are other potential candidates.
