According to BlockBeats, on September 4, the U.S. Federal Reserve has arranged a meeting to discuss topics related to payments, including stablecoins and tokenization. The Fed said in a notice on Wednesday that the Oct. 21 meeting will discuss “emerging stablecoin use cases and business models” and “tokenization of financial products and services” as part of an effort to innovate the U.S. payment system. Although the statement comes from the entire Fed Council, it was Fed’s Governor Christopher Waller, not Fed Chairman Jerome Powell. “To meet the ever-changing needs of consumers and businesses, the payments sector is constantly innovating. I look forward to exploring the opportunities and challenges of new technologies, bringing together ideas on how to improve the security and efficiency of payments, and listening to those who are committed to shaping the future of payments.”
