President of Metaplanet: The company plans to purchase a total of 210,000 Bitcoins by 2027

According to ChainCatcher, Simon Gerovich, president of Japanese listed company Metaplanet, emphasized the achievements made by the company as a Bitcoin reserve company in the 16 months of operation, and explained the company's plan to purchase a total of 210,000 Bitcoins by 2027 - accounting for 1% of the total supply. To achieve this goal, the company plans to launch two new financial products - Metaplanet Prefs. This perpetual preferred stock is similar to the same product issued by Strategy in March 2025, aiming to help the company acquire Bitcoin. Previously, Metaplanet shareholders approved three resolutions at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to increase the total number of authorized shares, allow the convening of virtual general meetings of shareholders and the establishment of new terms and conditions for permanent preferred shares.
