Paidun: cryptocurrency security incident in August caused $163 million in losses, an increase of 15% from July

According to ChainCatcher, according to PeckShield Alert monitoring, there were about 16 major cryptocurrency security incidents in 2025, with a total loss of US$163 million, an increase of 15% from US$142 million in July.
Among them, the five largest security incidents were: a Bitcoin holder lost $91.4 million; the Turkish cryptocurrency exchange BTCTurk suffered $54 million; the ODIN FUN project lost $7 million; BetterBank.io lost $5 million; and CrediXFinance lost $4.5 million. It is worth noting that BTCTurk has suffered two major security incidents in the past year, and its cumulative losses have exceeded US$100 million after losing $54 million in 2024.
