According to ChainCatcher, according to Cryptonews, Japanese mobile gaming company Gumi plans to spend 2.5 billion yen (about 17 million US dollars) to buy XRP. The company’s board of directors has approved the plan and is expected to complete the purchase by the end of February next year. Gumi’s largest shareholder is SBI Holdings, a long-time partner of XRP issuer Ripple. Gumi believes that XRP is a "network asset based on real financial needs", and this purchase is its strategic move to expand into the financial field.
