Ethereum community launches BETH tokenized destruction of ETH, which Joseph Lubin says will be developed on top of

According to Foresight News, the Ethereum Community Foundation announced the launch of BETH tokenization. BETH is Ethereum's new proof of destruction token, aiming to transform the basic mechanism of destruction of ETH into on-chain tokenization. Each BETH token represents ETH that has been verified to be removed from circulation, establishes a transparent and auditable destruction record, and provides new opportunities for developers to design applications based on verified destruction. When a user sends an ETH to a contract, the ETH is immediately forwarded to the destruction address, ensuring that it is permanently removed from circulation. After successful forwarding, the contract will mint an equal amount of BETH tokens and send back to the sender, maintaining a 1:1 correspondence between destroying ETH and minting BETH. Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of Consensys, retweeted that he highly appreciated the team's work and pointed out that it will be developed on tokens such as BETH, BBETH, BBBeth, etc. Lubin said that destroying ETH will become a very profitable activity that can spawn new industries, and it is also an interesting mechanism in Web3 games where players will be paid.
