Kevin Durant retracts Bitcoin purchased for $650, up more than 17,700% in nearly a decade

NBA star Kevin Durant finally recovered his holdings of Bitcoin after his Coinbase account was frozen for nearly a decade. During this period, Bitcoin price surged by more than 17,700%. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong confirmed on social media that the account has been restored. Durant initially bought Bitcoin in 2016 for about $650 per coin; Bitcoin is currently trading at nearly $116,000. The issue surfaced amid widespread complaints from Coinbase’s account recovery process, which Armstrong acknowledged is prioritizing improvements to the process.
