According to Techinasia, according to an email obtained by Wired, the White House instructed the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to add xAI's Grok chatbot to its approved list of artificial intelligence vendors. xAI was not initially included in the GSA's approval list in August 2025, which includes OpenAI, Google and Anthropic. Last week's email showed that GSA leadership asked to restore the xAI large language model of Grok3 and Grok4, two versions of the xAI version to the purchase list. Government contractor Carahsoft has also updated its contract to include xAI, and as of August 29, 2025, two Grok versions have been available on the GSAAdvantage market. xAI had previously announced the launch of a Grok version for US government agencies, but approval was delayed due to offensive content generated by the chatbot. There is currently no information on pricing or government discounts for xAI services.
