According to Cointelegraph, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has appointed new members to the Global Market Advisory Committee and its subcommittees, adding several crypto industry leaders to the Digital Asset Market Subcommittee (DAMS). CFTC Acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham appoints four new members: Katherine Minarik of Uniswap Labs, Avery Ching of Aptos Labs, James J. Hill of BNY and Ben Sherwin of Chainlink Labs. Additionally, Scott Lucas of JPMorgan was appointed co-chair of DAMS, along with Sandy Kaul of Franklin Templeton. They replaced former co-chair Caroline Butler. DAMS provides expert guidance to CFTC on cryptocurrency, blockchain and tokenized markets, recommends policies and promotes bridge construction between traditional and decentralized finance. Wall Street companies such as BNY Mellon and JPMorgan are actively exploring blockchain and stablecoins to drive the development of tokenized assets and crypto loans. President Trump signed the GENIUS bill to support regulation in the crypto industry.
