The U.S. House of Representatives passes temporary spending bill, the Senate may trigger fierce confrontation

Source: BlockBeats
BlockBeats News: On September 19, according to US media reports, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a temporary spending bill aimed at avoiding the federal government shutdown crisis on October 1, but this also caused the Senate to have a fierce confrontation on the bill late Friday - Democrats are expected to veto the bill on the grounds that "need to increase health care spending." House Speaker Johnson overcame the dissatisfaction of some of his Republican colleagues and pushed the bill through a 217 vote in favor and 212 votes against. House Democrats voted almost unanimously against the bill. The Senate plans to review the bill submitted by the House at the same time late Friday, as well as the “another version of the temporary spending bill” proposed by Democratic leader Schumer (which plans to fund the government until October 31). Both versions of the bill are expected to be rejected, meaning the U.S. government will be in a stalemate of a shutdown crisis less than two weeks before the October 1 deadline. (Jin Shi)
