Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko urges the Bitcoin community to speed up action to prevent quantum attacks, Huobi HTX reported. He believes that major breakthroughs in the field of quantum computing may come earlier than expected.
“I feel like there is a 50% chance of breaking through quantum computing in five years,” Yakovenko said at the 2025 All-In Summit published to YouTube on Friday. He added: “We should migrate Bitcoin to a solution that resists quantum signatures.”
Yakovenko's predictions are based on the amazing speed at which multiple technologies are being integrated and the accelerated development of artificial intelligence from research papers to practical applications. "It's amazing and I will encourage everyone to speed up the action," he said.
