Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) seized over 56 million Canadian dollars in cryptocurrency from exchange TradeOgre and closed unregistered exchange TradeOgre. TradeOgre is not registered as a currency service business with the Canadian Financial Transactions and Reporting Analysis Centre (FINTRAC) and has not verified its customer identity. Police alleged that most of the funds circulated through the platform were derived from illegal activities, which facilitated money laundering by providing anonymous account creation services.
