Huobi HTX reported that the EU has set a year-end target, requiring further measures to be taken before the end of the year to promote pension investment and simplify the transaction process, and strive to inject momentum into the revival of the European capital market. EU Financial Services Commissioner Albuquerque announced plans on Thursday. She also announced that the European Commission is considering giving direct regulatory power to its highest market regulator in Paris, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). She said that as the regulatory power shifts to ESMA, the European Commission will consider the feasibility of implementing centralized regulation of certain market infrastructures such as central counterparties, central securities custodians and trading venues. She added that emerging sectors such as crypto asset service providers will also benefit from more centralized regulation, stressing that the move will not undermine the role of regulators in various countries.
