According to the official website of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), on September 18, the Eastern Region of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) federal police department conducted the largest cryptocurrency seizure operation in Canada's history, seizure more than $56 million and closed the cryptocurrency trading platform TradeOgre for the first time. The survey, which began in June 2024 after receiving a tip from Europol, showed that the platform was not registered as a financial services enterprise with the Canadian Financial Transactions and Reporting Analysis Centre ( FINTRAC ) and failed to identify its customers. Police believe that much of the platform’s funds come from criminal activities. Further analysis of relevant transaction data is currently being carried out, and allegations may be filed in the future.
