U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is pressuring the Justice Department to ask Binance Holdings Ltd., the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, whether complying with the 2023 agreement reached with federal prosecutors on money laundering and sanctions violations, asking the Justice Department to confirm whether Binance complies with the "ongoing requirements" in the settlement agreement, according to Bloomberg. Senators also asked for details of Binance's interaction with Trump administration officials, according to a copy of the letter seen by Bloomberg News. According to an agreement reached between Binance and the U.S. government at the end of 2023, Binance agreed to pay $4.3 billion and accept other penalties. Bloomberg reported this week that prosecutors are considering whether to allow the exchange to cancel compliance supervision enforced under the agreement.
