BRICS Pay is attracting attention from the EU, South America and Africa and is expanding strategically through partnerships with fintech companies, banks and tech companies. Co-founder Andrey Mikhaylishin noted that outsiders showed a strong interest in this, especially in Africa, where 1.5 billion people are unable to use traditional payment cards. BRICS Pay, launched in October 2024, is based on blockchain technology, bypassing SWIFT and the US dollar and using local currencies to conduct cross-border transactions to reduce dependence on Western systems.
