Japanese gaming giant Gumi plans to invest about $17 million to buy XRP

PANews August 29th news, according to The Crypto Basic, Japanese gaming giant Gumi Inc. announced plans to purchase 2.5 billion yen (about $17 million) of XRP as part of its efforts to expand its blockchain business. The company announced the progress in a press release today after a decision made at a recent board meeting. It is worth noting that the gaming company will strategically accumulate XRP within the five months from September 2025 to February 2026. Commenting on this development, Gumi stressed that the planned purchase is a strategic move to enable it to participate in the XRP ecosystem. Previously, in June, Gumi spent about $6.99 million to buy 80.352 bitcoins.
