Special Envoy Witkov is in asset dilemma, and Trump's related crypto assets have conflicts of interest

Source: golden
Golden Finance reported that the White House said that Witkov has not yet divested his cryptocurrency assets, including holding stakes in the "World Free Finance Company" related to the Trump family, which may bring conflicts of interest to the envoy. A White House official said Witkov had completed his financial disclosure and was working with ethical officials and legal counsel to ensure full compliance with government regulations, including taking all necessary legal steps to complete the divestiture. The process of determining which assets an official appointee needs to divest may turn into a negotiating game with ethical officials. If he is caught in long-term dispute over "what assets constitute conflict of interest" is, Witkov may face legal risks - especially if he is substantially involved in specific matters related to his personal financial interests, it may violate the Criminal Conflict of Interest Act. Government ethics regulations require cabinet members and other senior officials to divest assets that may cause financial conflicts of interest, but the president is not subject to these restrictions.
