Coinbase urges U.S. Department of Justice to establish a unified cryptocurrency regulatory framework

Source: BlockBeats
According to BlockBeats, on September 17, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice, asking federal regulators to prioritize state-level regulations that conflict with national crypto policies and establish a unified regulatory framework, according to The Block. Despite the SEC's revocation of the charges against Coinbase, Oregon has filed a lawsuit against the trading platform, accusing it of encouraging the sale of unregistered crypto assets. Grewal said fragmented state regulation uses “novel, expanded and flawed” securities laws to interpret, hinder innovation and harm consumers. Coinbase has escalated the Oregon case to federal court and filed a lawsuit against the state’s governor.
