Coinbase urges U.S. Department of Justice to establish a unified cryptocurrency regulatory framework

Despite the SEC's rescinding allegations against Coinbase, Oregon has filed a lawsuit against the exchange, accusing it of encouraging the sale of unregistered crypto assets. Grewal said fragmented state regulation uses “novel, expanded and flawed” securities laws to interpret, hinder innovation and harm consumers. Coinbase has escalated the Oregon case to federal court and filed a lawsuit against the state's governor.
