Kalshi crypto supervisor and others launched a HIP 4 proposal in the Hyperliquid community, suggesting the introduction of event perpetual contracts

Kalshi crypto-director John Wang and others launched the HIP 4 proposal in the Hyperliquid community, which proposed the introduction of "Event Perpetuals", a practical design to launch a predictive market deployed by builders on the blockchain. Unlike traditional perpetual contracts, event perpetual contracts do not have continuous oracle or capital costs; prices are entirely determined by trading activities. Price reflects the binary probability of events occurring. A single resolution oracle update sets the market to 0 or 1 at the end of the event, causing transactions to be suspended and positions to be settled.
