NASA scientists open food crisis hotline with funding from tech giants

After Russia invaded Ukraine, crop scientist Inbar Bekel-Rexev received contacts from Kiev officials to assess the food losses caused by the occupying forces. Her team, affiliated with a NASA unit focused on global agricultural monitoring, began tracking and mapping crop yield reductions using satellite and remote sensing technologies.
