Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai praised Coinbase for integrating its x402 protocol into Google’s new Agentic Payments Protocol (AP2), enabling AI agents to trade through stablecoins. AP2 is jointly developed by Coinbase, the Ethereum Foundation and more than 60 companies to support traditional payments and cryptocurrency payments, and promotes the development of the AI-native financial ecosystem in the context of the increasing popularity of stablecoins in the United States.
