Yala released a follow-up analysis report on the September 14 attack, where attackers used temporary deployment keys during the authorized cross-chain bridge deployment to establish an unauthorized cross-chain bridge and withdraw funds. The YU token once deanned to $0.2, and then stabilized at $0.94. Officials said that the attack did not exploit the protocol vulnerability and Bitcoin reserves were not affected. The hacker has returned 22.287 million YU tokens, and the remaining 7.713 million YU has been converted to 1635.572 ETH, of which 151.5 ETH is mixed through Tornado Cash, and 1474.6 ETH is scattered in 146 hacker-controlled wallets. Yala announced that it will destroy illegally minted YU tokens on September 23, restoring a 1:1 USDC redemption ratio. Compensation will be provided to users who suffer liquidation losses due to deaning, and has cooperated with law enforcement to track hackers.
