U.S. stocks fell slightly as investors awaited expectations of Fed rate cuts, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq hit new highs intraday trading on Tuesday. The dollar index fell to its lowest point since July 1, while the euro-dollar exchange rate soared to a four-year high of $1.1877, with gold hitting an all-time high of more than $3,700. Analysts pointed out that foreign investors have stepped up their hedging efforts to the US dollar, with more than 80% of stock inflows hedging, reflecting that despite the weak dollar, demand for U.S. assets remains strong.
