Canadian minister says Anglo-American and Tektronix need to prove that the merger has more benefits for Canada

Canadian Minister of Industry Melanie Joley said Anglo-American Resources and Tektronix Resources have not fully demonstrated that their proposed merger will bring economic benefits to Canada. Joley, who plans to meet with the CEOs of the two companies next week, stressed that the merger must bring clear net benefits to Canada, noting that current negotiations have not met that requirement.
