U.S. Treasury Secretary Bescent praised Brad for seeking Fed Chairman

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Becent met with former St. Louis Fed Chairman James Brad to discuss the successor to the Federal Reserve. Brad stressed the need to defend the dollar's reserve currency status, maintain low inflation, and maintain the independence of the Federal Reserve. If inflation continues, the Fed is open to interest rate hikes and expects inflation to fall soon, Becent said.
