Fidelity: Bitcoin’s illiquid supply may reach 8.3 million by 2032

Source: Htx
Huobi HTX reported that asset management company Fidelity expects that Bitcoin’s circulating supply will be approximately 19.8 million as of the end of the second quarter of 2025, and by the end of the year, the illiquid supply of Bitcoin will exceed 6 million BTC. By the second quarter of 2032, nearly 42% of Bitcoin (i.e. more than 8.3 million) will be considered as insufficient liquidity. The company draws this figure based on the assumption that the wallet population that has held BTC for at least seven years will continue to increase its supply at the same rate as in the past decade. At the same time, the additional supply shortage caused by more listed companies was not taken into account.
