According to Golden Finance, the Israeli Ministry of Defense ordered the confiscation of 187 cryptocurrency wallets, accusing them of being used by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Israel's National Agency for Counter-Terrorism Financing and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the confiscation order invoked the 2016 Counter-Terrorism Act. Officials say the wallets had processed USDT transactions worth $1.5 billion and are currently holding approximately $1.5 million. Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic has integrated the confiscated addresses into its surveillance system, but noted that not all wallets are directly controlled by the IRGC and some may belong to the cryptocurrency infrastructure that serves multiple customers.
