Lombard, together with Chainlink and Symbiotic, introduces BARD token utility through re-stake, and launches the first cross-chain LBTC crypto economic protection layer

Odaily Planet Daily News Lombard announced a pioneering tripartite cooperation with Chainlink and Symbiotic to introduce the utility of BARD tokens through re-stakes and launch the industry's first cross-chain bridge solution that guarantees economic security. This cooperation combines Chainlink's Cross-chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with the Symbiotic universal staking framework to create an additional layer of crypto-economic security for LBTC cross-chain transmission. The collaboration establishes new standards for top BTC derivatives to achieve maximum interoperability and crypto-economic security by integrating Symbiotic’s permissionless re-staking architecture with CCIP’s modular security framework. This innovative model directly aligns the economic security of protocol cryptography with the utility of BARD tokens. Through functions such as token developer authentication and external crypto economic system integration, asset issuers can customize protection solutions for cross-chain transfers without any modification to the CCIP itself. “We are pleased to work with Symbiotic and Lombard to enhance crypto-economic security for cross-chain LBTC transmissions, which highlights the flexibility of the modular security architecture of CCIP to meet any use case needs,” said Johann Eid, Chief Commercial Officer, Chainlink Labs. As a chain-independent Bitcoin derivative designed to flow freely in the DeFi ecosystem, LBTC needs infrastructure that matches its ambitions. Every cross-chain transmission now benefits from two-layer protection: Chainlink’s time-verified CCIP infrastructure and Symbiotic’s crypto-economic security model. "LBTC is a chain-independent asset that meets cross-network needs rather than being limited to a single network. LBTC holders want to freely transfer bitcoin to the best opportunity, while expecting uncompromising security. Pairing the CCIP architecture with Symbiotic re-solidated collateral provides a stronger economic security for the community. Each staking BARD enhances LBTC robustness, aligns incentives and strengthens interoperability stack integrity." This integration introduces instant benefits for BARD token holders, directly participating in protocol crypto economic security through a transparent staking mechanism. The staking feature will be available on the Lombard app, allowing users to enjoy 240% APY BARD pricing gains (decreasing over time) at launch and receive additional incentives from partners. The staking architecture is supported by the Mellow multi-treasury infrastructure. When the user stakes BARD, the tokens are deposited into the vault system directly connected to Symbiotic. The backend automatically handles complex operations such as entrusted liquidity, compound rewards and management exits, and users only need to hold the share of the vault to obtain profits.
