Macro investor Raoul Pal believes that traditional 401(k) retirement plans fail to deliver enough returns, and Bitcoin, despite its high volatility, has become the best performing asset in history. Since 2012, Bitcoin has had an annual return of up to 145%, ten times that of the stock market, although three of the declines exceeded 70%. Pal notes that the number of cryptocurrency brokerage accounts worldwide is currently 650 million, more than the total of all stock brokerage accounts, as Bitcoin provides partial ownership of high-value assets. He reminded old investors to pay attention to risks, but also emphasized Bitcoin’s unprecedented wealth creation ability in human history. Bitcoin is currently trading at $114,956.29, up nearly 90% over the past year.
