According to Coinjie.com, on September 16, a U.S. appeal court on Monday rejected U.S. President Trump's request to fire U.S. Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook, the first time the president has taken such action since the founding of the Federal Reserve in 1913. The District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals ruling means that Cook can currently stay with the Fed during its Fed policy meeting Tuesday and Wednesday. The Trump administration is expected to appeal the U.S. Supreme Court on the ruling. Additionally, Trump-nominated Federal Reserve Board member Michelle Milan received the votes needed to confirm in the U.S. Senate on Monday, allowing her to participate in the Fed’s interest rate decision this week with 11 other members with voting rights.
