According to ChainCatcher, SC Ventures, the venture capital arm of Standard Chartered Plc, plans to raise funds for a $250 million fund that focuses on investing in digital assets in the financial services sector, according to Bloomberg. SC Ventures Operations member Gautam Jain said on Monday between the gap in Riyadh’s inaugural Money 20/20 FinTech event that the fund plans to launch next year and will receive support from some Middle East investors and focus on global investment. Jain said the division also plans to launch a $100 million African investment fund and is considering launching its first risk debt fund, but does not say whether the funds are also focused on digital assets or fintech. Jain also said the department is increasing its investment in the Middle East this year, launching its operations in Saudi Arabia in January. Its strategy is to form a team focused on the Saudi market and launch a domestic fund in 2026 focusing on minority equity investments and new business expansion in enterprises.
