Nasdaq CEO: Support reform of corporate financial report reporting cycle

Source: Htx
Huobi HTX reported that Nasdaq CEO Friedman advocated the option of providing listed companies with quarterly or semi-annual reports, and the exchange operator is strengthening support for reforms to reduce the reporting burden of listed companies. This comes after President Trump again called on Monday to stop publishing the company's quarterly report, a move that would mark a major shift in U.S. businesses if approved. "Thank you, President Trump has allowed us to see a key challenge facing listed company leaders: shortsightism, and quarterly reports exacerbate this challenge." Friedman said minimizing friction, burden and costs for listed companies could further inject vitality into the U.S. capital market and stimulate economic growth. Nasdaq has previously made public reasons to simplify the reporting requirements, suggesting that companies have the option of reporting half a year rather than quarterly.
