Standard Chartered Bank SC Ventures plans to raise $250 million in digital asset funds

According to Coinjie.com, ME News, on September 16 (UTC+8), SC Ventures, a venture capital and innovation division of Standard Chartered Plc, plans to raise a $250 million fund to focus on digital asset investment in the financial services field. SC Ventures member Gautam Jain said at the inaugural Money 20/20 FinTech Conference in Riyadh that the fund is expected to launch in 2026 and will receive support from some Middle Eastern investors, with investments globally. Jain also revealed that SC Ventures also plans to set up a $100 million African fund and consider launching its first risk debt fund, but it has not yet been clarified whether these funds will also focus on digital assets or financial technology. Founded in 2018, SC Ventures aims to invest in technology startups and incubate innovative businesses. This year, it has set up operations in Saudi Arabia to accelerate its layout in the Middle East.
