Google's ad technology sale proposal fails to meet U.S. Department of Justice's requirement

Huobi HTX reported that a Google lawyer said on Monday that Google had considered selling part of its advertising technology business to address antitrust concerns faced in Europe and the United States, but the U.S. Department of Justice’s proposal to force the sale of its advertising trading platform is far beyond that. Google's external lawyer said the Justice Department requires a "complete technical separation and divestment" of Google's advertising trading platform AdX. The Justice Department and Google will start a two-week hearing next week to discuss whether the company must sell part of its business after a judge ruled that Google illegally monopolizes the two advertising technology markets. “Google has considered a divestiture,” the lawyer said, “but it’s completely different from the Justice Department’s proposal in any way.”
