Saison Capital establishes Onigiri Capital, a special blockchain investment fund, with an initial target size of US$50 million

According to ChainCatcher, Saison Capital, a venture capital firm under Japan CreditSaison, announced the establishment of Onigiri Capital, a blockchain special investment fund, with an initial target size of US$50 million. The fund has received a $35 million commitment to focus on investing in startups that develop real-world asset (RWA) solutions such as stablecoins, payments, asset tokenization, DeFi and financial market infrastructure. Onigiri Capital is co-led by QinEnLooi and HansdeBack, both of whom have experience in investing in fintech and digital assets across Asia. The fund plans to build a bridge between US startup projects and Asian cryptocurrency communities and financial institutions with CreditSaison's network resources in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
