Nemo Protocol launches debt token program to compensate $2.6 million for attacking victims

Source: Odaily
Odaily Planet Daily News According to the official blog, Nemo Protocol, the Sui ecological income trading platform that was recently attacked, has launched a user compensation plan, intending to make up for user losses by issuing debt tokens NEOM. NEOM will be calculated as an on-chain snapshot of the user when the event is paused, with an equivalent value corresponding to its US dollar loss. Nemo said that due to insufficient funds, it is impossible to pay in full in US dollars directly, so the debt token strategy is adopted as the most feasible solution. During the process of migrating assets to the new contract, users will receive NEOM tokens, and they can choose to exit through the AMM pool or hold them waiting for funds to be recovered. The team also plans to launch the NEOM/USDC mobile pool on Sui mainstream DEX so that users can exit instantly. In addition, any recovered stolen funds, external financing or strategic investment will be injected into the redemption pool and NEOM holders can claim proportionally. The platform will also launch a special website to disclose the progress of NEOM destruction in real time to ensure transparency. Previously, the attacker transferred $2.6 million from Sui to Ethereum through Wormhole CCTP. Nemo is working with security teams to track funds and establish a white hat framework and vulnerability bounty mechanism. (The Block)
