According to ChainCatcher, Moody's chief economist Mark Zandi said the latest machine learning indicators show that as of August, the probability of a recession in the United States is 48% in the next year. Zandi notes that despite being below the 50% threshold, historical experience shows that when the probability approaches or breaks through 40%, it is usually synchronized with or followed by recession. He also mentioned that slowing employment and continuous downward revisions put the economy at a critical point.
